The research included "Study of the effect of Ketamine and Propofol on the quality of recovery after laparoscopic surgery in Iraqi women.
The study examined the quality of recovery in Iraqi women based on the duration of recovery, the incidence of nausea and vomiting, and the incidence of postoperative drowsiness caused by the use of ketamine or propofol.
The following method was used: all data were collected and saved anonymously and consent was obtained from all patients.
The research samples were divided as follows: 88 women were divided into two groups, where 64 patients used ketamine as an anesthetic in laparoscopic surgery, while the 22 patients used Propofol residual patients as an anesthetic in laparoscopic surgery.
Results: In this study, we analyzed the effect of both Propofol and Ketamine on the duration of recovery in minutes with both age and weight.
“We noted in all results, whether using Ketamine or Propofol, that there was no direct, statistically significant relationship between age and duration of recovery in minutes, nor between weigh.”
..
The recovery time was in minutes, nor between weight and recovery time in minutes.
A study of the effect of both Ketamine and Propofol on the recovery period after laparoscopic surgery showed that Propofol was better than Ketamine, because the recovery period was less than that which was used with Ketamine
