A scientific discipline that combines chemistry and pharmacology with the aim of designing and developing new pharmaceutical compounds. Pharmaceutical industry distinguishes, manufactures and develops new chemical compounds to suit therapeutic uses:In a constant attempt of increasing its therapeutic effect and decreasing its side effects, a lot of chemical techniques are studied and put to application. Emerging technology is used for new applications of computational chemistry to study the drugs used and their biological effects.

Pharmaceutical chemistry is a unique blend of the physical and biological sciences.The department's mission is to provide students with a broad and diversified scientific background, as well as an integrated and creative study programme. The major areas of study and research include drug design and discovery, organic preparation of medicinal and pharmaceutical components, and the study of Inorganic compounds and their medical and pharmaceutical benefits.
