Using software in drug design is a step towards technological advancement.

As part of the series of scientific activities organized by the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Branch at the College of Pharmacy, and within the framework of its endeavor to keep pace with global developments in the field of computational drug design, and to highlight the role of digital technologies in accelerating drug discovery and development processes,The scientific workshop, entitled: “The Use of Electronic Programs in Drug Design and Their Role in Developing Modern Treatments,” was evaluated.

The workshop was presented by Mr. Zaid Mahmoud Mohammed, a lecturer in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, who reviewed the most prominent programs specializing in molecular modeling and biomimicry, explaining how they can be used in designing new pharmaceutical compounds and analyzing their interactions with biological targets.

The workshop targeted, in addition to the teaching staff of the college, graduate students and researchers in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and modern technologies in pharmaceutical research from other universities, with the aim of enhancing their research skills and enabling them to employ digital tools in their scientific projects.

This scientific activity comes as a confirmation of Al-Zahraa University for Girls’ keenness to support the scientific research and development process in pharmaceutical fields, and to encourage communication between academics and students within a renewed and fruitful scientific framework.
