The topic of covalent organic frameworks and their application in drug delivery was addressed in a scientific workshop at the College of Pharmacy.

The College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Girls organized a scientific workshop entitled “COFs: Covalent Organic Frameworks and their Application in Drug Delivery”, presented by Dr. Nafisa Qurban Ali, a faculty member at the college, in the presence of a number of female faculty members and researchers.

The workshop addressed the concept of Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) as porous crystalline materials characterized by a highly organized structure, making them one of the most promising innovations in the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry and drug delivery technology.

The lecturer also reviewed the latest research applications of these frameworks in accurately transporting drug molecules to target tissues, which contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of treatment and reducing side effects, stressing the importance of integrating these modern concepts into academic and research programs at Iraqi universities to keep pace with global developments in pharmaceutical sciences.

This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college with the aim of expanding knowledge and enhancing skills in the fields of scientific research and modern pharmaceutical technologies.
