The College of Pharmacy launches its most important annual festival to promote and spread health awareness in the community.

The College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Girls organized its annual breast cancer awareness festival under the slogan “So that their hearts may be at peace,” as part of the Pink October activities that aim to promote health awareness among women and encourage early detection of the disease.

The festival included several scientific lectures and discussion seminars by specialist doctors in the fields of medicine from the Warith Foundation for Cancer Treatment, presented by Dr. Wasan Mahdi Jawad and Dr. Manar Muhammad Mahdi, in which they discussed the importance of early detection and its role in raising recovery rates.In addition to reviewing the latest medical statistics and prevention methods, there are also awareness competitions that encourage women to promote their health so they can face the disease with courage and confidence.

In her speech during the festival, the President of Al-Zahra University for Women, Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, stressed that the university pays special attention to activities that affect the health of women and society, stressing that awareness is the first step in prevention, and that the university continues to adopt initiatives that promote health culture and human empowerment for women.

For her part, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Nour Hatif Al-Dabbagh, indicated that this festival comes within a series of programs that the college implements annually to consolidate the concept of community pharmacy.The role of academic staff and students in spreading health awareness, stressing that cooperation between academic institutions and the health sector is a fundamental pillar for reducing the spread of chronic diseases, especially cancer.

The event witnessed the participation of teaching staff and students, in addition to an educational presentation that highlighted the story of hope experienced by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and her journey through which she achieved victory over the disease, in a message that confirms that early detection means a longer life and greater chances of recovery.

It is worth mentioning that the College of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Girls has been organizing this festival annually as part of its social responsibility and its ongoing activity in spreading health culture and empowering women towards a safe and healthy life.
