The Faculty of Pharmacy Holds its First International Conference for Medical and Pharmaceutical Research Under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, in the presence of the Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Alaa Diaa Al-Din, and the Head of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Haider Fouad, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Zahraa University Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani and the management of Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Nour Al-Dabbagh, Al-Zahraa University for Women witnessed the launch of the activities of the first international conference under the motto “Medical Research between Theory and Application” in partnership with Uruk Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies Factory today, Saturday, 3/2/2024, in the central conference hall at the university.
The conference witnessed a high-level of academic presence, namely; the presidents of several Iraqi universities and the deans of pharmacy Faculties, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher Education, and scientific figures from Germany, Algeria, and Iran.
In her speech, the University President welcomed the attendees, stressing the university’s endeavor to open horizons of cooperation with all scientific bodies and academic institutions, appreciating the role of the holy shrine of Hussein and the support of its guardian, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai for the scientific and academic pathways at the university.
For her part, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy explained that the aim of holding the Medical and Pharmacy Research Conference was to support the research movement in the field of the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industry and to explore the most important developments in the pharmaceutical industries, study their characteristics, and the possibility of benefiting from theoretical research and its application.
It is noteworthy that the conference and the opening session witnessed the delivery of lectures and research in the field of medicines and medical supplies, during which a number of attendees participated and asked questions about the participating research, after which an exhibition of posters and pharmaceutical products was opened in the central courtyard of the university, followed by research sessions in the halls of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
